Toni Kroos has confessed Real Madrid were not the better team against Bayern Munich but believes they were ‘the more effective’ side.
Madrid battled their way to a 4-3 aggregate victory over the German international’s old club to confirm their fourth final in the past five seasons as they aim for their third consecutive triumph.
“We were maybe not the better team but we were the more effective one,” Kroos is cited as saying by Marca.
“Bayern played some excellent football and created lots of chances but on the other hand, we had more of the ball than in the first leg.
“We knew this game would be extremely tough and we would need to suffer to progress to the final but we are delighted we have done so.
“Bayern played some excellent football over the two legs but we trusted in our ability and produced the effective moments when they mattered the most.”
