Zidane ‘wishes to continue at Madrid’

Zinedine Zidane has no plans of leaving his role as Real Madrid Coach at the end of the season regardless of success in Europe.

Reports had suggested the Frenchman may not stay on in the position should Los Blancos fail to win their third consecutive European title.

“My future is independent of that (Champions League success),” Zidane is cited as saying by Real Madrid’s official club website.

“Today I am the Coach of the club and I want to continue like this, but this is not important and we are only focused on the match and how to prepare for that.

“We want to go out and win the game and we do not want to take any risks, to play on the back foot or do anything strange.

“We want to go out and get an early game because we know the importance of this game and that it’s a semi-final, we know what we must do.

“Success is what drives us all on – me, the fans, the club and our team.”
