Diego Simeone has hailed Atletico Madrid’s draw at Arsenal as ‘one of the greatest’ results in his side’s history in European football.
The Argentine Coach has guided Los Rojiblancos to the Champions League finals in 2014 and 2016 alongside a semi-final last season, but he believes the draw in North London was magnificent.
“We have a 50% change of progression, both sides do,” Simeone told reporters after the match.
“Arsenal created lots of goal scoring opportunities and whilst we only had ten men, we managed to create chances in the first half.
“I believe the move for their goal was also a good chance but their team is very talented and patient, they looked to cause us problems for the entire game but we responded with excellent defensive work.
“I believe this result will go down as one of the greatest in the history of European football for Atletico Madrid.”
