Perez wants Navas ‘for many years’

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants Keylor Navas to remain as the club’s goalkeeper ‘for many years to come’.

Navas, who arrived at Madrid from Levante in 2014, has had his future come under great scrutiny as the club were linked with moves to David De Gea, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Thibaut Courtois.

“We are proud to have you as our goalkeeper, whatever others may say,” Perez told Navas at an event, as reported by Marca.

“If you continue to work hard on this path you will definitely be with us for many years to come.”

The Costa Rican goalkeeper is quoted as replying; “I’m very happy at this club and in this city, my family are too.

“I have been made to feel at home here and I want to continue to enjoy this club for many years to come, my mentality is to keep winning trophies.”
