Diego Simeone has criticised his side’s ‘ongoing’ away problems after Thursday’s heavy 3-0 defeat at Real Sociedad.
Atleti have lost four of their last six away games – winning just one – with the defeat at the Anoeta meaning Barcelona will win their 25th league title should Los Rojiblancos lose to Real Betis on Sunday.
“It’s been ongoing for the last few away games now and we have not addressed it,” Simeone told reporters after the match.
“Looking at our results and the numbers it is true that our away form simply is not good enough and going into next season, we must really look at this.
“We simply need to remain calm and analyse this properly, to improve this situation in the league but also, more pressingly, in the Europa League.
“We need to pay plenty of attention to these games because it is true that opponents are hurting us a lot when we are playing away.”
