Ousmane Dembele has rejected suggestions his injury problems this season have stemmed from him not looking after himself.
The Barcelona forward stated his lifestyle at the Catalan giants is healthier than when he lived in Germany last season, playing for Borussia Dortmund.
“Now I’m living in Barcelona, I have a much better lifestyle than what I lived in Dortmund,” Dembele explained to Telefoot, in quotes carried by Marca.
“I was not living healthily in Germany but there I did not get injured and I have improved a lot this year in terms of that…so that has nothing to do with this season.
“I’ve worked very hard on my fitness the past few months, I have spent a lot of time in the gym because I am getting tired very quickly.
“I may not be at the top of my game now but I will continue to work hard and soon I will return to my best version.
“My future? I have signed a five-year deal with Barcelona and I plan to be here for a long time.”
