Ronaldo out of Malaga trip

Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale have been rested for Real Madrid’s Liga trip to Malaga on Sunday.

The trio have been given the weekend off, with Madrid’s midweek League match against Athletic Bilbao in mind.

However, Bale’s absence is considered to be the most surprising, given his recent lack of game time for Los Blancos.

Elsewhere, Sergio Ramos is back in the squad after serving his one-match ban during Wednesday’s controversial Champions League quarter-final against Juventus.

Malaga, meanwhile, find themselves rock bottom of La Liga, 14 points adrift of safety with just seven games remaining.

Worse yet, the Andalusians have beaten Madrid just once in 35 previous meetings, their only win coming in the 2012-13 season, when they reached the Champions League last eight with Isco and co.

Malaga: Roberto, Andres Prieto; Miquel, Rolon, Iturra, Adrian, Chory, Ideye, Ricca, Rosales, Bueno, Samu, Lestienne, Miguel Torres, Rolan, Lacen, En-Nesyri, Ivan Rodriguez

Real Madrid: Keylor, Casilla, Luca; Carvajal, Vallejo, Ramos, Marcelo, Theo, Achraf; Kroos, Casemiro, Marcos Llorente, Kovacic, Asensio, Isco, Ceballos; Benzema, Vazquez, Mayoral
