Luis Suarez believes Barcelona are not getting the ‘great credit’ they deserve for their runaway League campaign after Saturday’s 2-1 win against Valencia.
“Statistics are important,” the goalscorer told BeIN Sports after the game.
“It’s normal that after what happened in the Champions League, the fans were angry like us.
“We’re the first to recognise that, but the response of the fans also recognised the League campaign we’re having, which deserves great credit.
“Now it seems like winning the League doesn’t deserve any. Valencia were complicated opponents, fighting for a place in the Champions League, while we wanted to confirm the excellent League campaign we’re having.
“With the mental state we were in, taking an early lead was very important, given Valencia were a team that could make things difficult for you.
“Being knocked out of the Champions League was a tough blow to take, so this victory is very important for us.
“The League? We have only a few games left to win. The next one against Celta will also be complicated and then we’ll have the Copa del Rey Final.
“Our advantage is important, but we have to think about the next game against Celta.”
