Liverpool reportedly offered Philippe Coutinho to Real Madrid last summer in a deal which would have seen Gareth Bale move the other way.
A report in El Mundo Deportivo states Los Blancos held an interest in the Brazilian playmaker, who eventually joined El Clasico rivals Barcelona in January.
The claim states the English club were demanding €70m plus Bale for Coutinho’s sale and cites new book "PSG: Revelations of a Revolution".
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly a ‘massive admirer’ of the Welsh winger and would have had ‘no hesitation’ in putting his weight behind such a deal.
Bale has been linked with a summer exit from the Bernabeu by recent reports in Diario AS.
