Former Real Betis midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo (pictured right) has laughed off suggestions he could return to the city to play for Sevilla.
The 26-year-old has starred for the past three seasons at Belgian club Genk having initially come through the Betis youth system, making 33 first-team appearances.
“Join Sevilla? Never, I am a Betico so please do not ask me this,” Pozuelo is cited as saying by ABC de Sevilla.
“Moving to China? Certainly, football is a career which only lasts maybe 10 or 15 years, and it is important to maximise its opportunity.
“Money is important, although I come from a simple family and we do not need a lot of money to be able to live. Look at my clothes, I do not spend a lot of money on those!
“This would be mainly for my children, who I want to give the best possible future where they are not missing anything.”
Pozuelo left Betis in 2013 for Swansea and also had a short stint at Rayo Vallecano before moving to Belgium.
