Robert Lewandowski has asked Bayern Munich to allow negotiations with Real Madrid this summer for a transfer, say reports in the Spanish press.
The Poland international wants to join the European champions and despite the German club ruling out a move, Diario AS state he will personally request a move.
Lewandowski, 29, is said to have switched agent to Pini Zahavi – who has a reputation for concluding transfer deals – recently in order to drive a move to the Bernabeu through.
The German club’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stated earlier this week the striker would ‘100% stay’ in Bavaria amid growing reports a deal may be possible.
AS report Bayern are targeting a series of potential replacements including Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner and Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint-Germain.
Rummenigge accepted Madrid were ‘the club of Robert’s dreams’ while separately, the club appear to be close to finalising a permanent move for James Rodriguez.
