Barca ‘gentleman’s agreement’ for Griezi

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ in relation to Antoine Griezmann’s future, say reports in the Spanish press.

Diario AS outline the situation between the two clubs, with the Catalan giants allegedly agreeing not to approach the French forward unless he requested to leave Atletico.

In the instance that the 27-year-old made it clear he wished for a summer transfer, Barca would then be in pole position to land the forward.

Griezmann’s release clause at Los Rojiblancos is said to reduce from €200m to €100m this summer, while reports in Diario Sport and El Mundo Deportivo suggested Barca were keen to push ahead for a deal.

Manchester United were also said to have held a strong interest in the forward before it was indicated he would not be leaving La Liga.
