Revealed: Barca’s Griezmann pursuit

Barcelona reportedly have two tricks up their sleeves for their planned pursuit of Atletico Madrid ace Antoine Griezmann.

According to a ‘confidential’ report in Sunday’s Sport, Griezmann will accept ‘a low salary with high bonuses’ so that Barca’s wage bill ‘doesn’t balloon’.

Furthermore, the club would be prepared to pay ‘more than €100m’ in order to ‘avoid any hostilities’ with Atleti, who have a history of buying and selling with the Catalans.

The French forward is understood to be on the move this summer, having admitted to only staying due to Los Colchoneros’ transfer ban.

Despite Barca seemingly moving into pole positions, however, it remains to be seen the 27-year-old will fit in at Camp Nou, given the Blaugrana spent over €200m to add Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele to their attacking arsenal.
