Malaga stopped their run of seven straight La Liga defeats but their winless run extend to 14 games after Sunday’s draw at Celta Vigo.
It was a dreadful encounter at Balaidos, with neither side managing a shot on target in the opening hour and neither able to carve out a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
For Celta, this represented a blow as they now sit four points adrift of seventh position – which is likely to guarantee Europa League football next season.
Malaga remain six points off the pace at the foot of the table and a whopping 13 points from safety as their relegation looks increasingly inevitable.
Jose Gonzalez’s side have now scored only three goals in their last 14 La Liga outings.
