Real Madrid are ‘at their best’ when Cristiano Ronaldo is firing on all cylinders, according to his teammate Lucas Vazquez.
The Portuguese star is in top form, with his four-goal haul against Girona on Sunday taking him up to 37 strikes for the campaign, of which 18 have come in his last 10 La Liga games.
“Real Madrid are at their best when Cristiano Ronaldo is at his best,” Vazquez is cited as saying by Marca.
“Cristiano is now at an amazing level and this shows every match and in every training session, we believe he can now push Messi close for the league’s top scorer.”
The Madrid winger also spoke of his call-up to the Spanish national team and is targeting a World Cup slot this summer.
“I enjoy being part of the international set-up and in Lopetegui’s team,” he continued.
“Right now I feel good because I’m getting more game-time and I’m growing in confidence and going to the World Cup is a huge personal goal for me.”
