Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone has praised his side for pulling off their game-plan in their comfortable victory over Lokomotiv Moscow.
Los Rojiblancos ran out comfortable 3-0 victors over the Russian league leaders at the Wanda Metropolitano to put them in full control of the tie.
“Preparation for the game was key and we knew our game-plan to perfection and carried this out,” Simeone told his post-match press conference.
“We know about Lokomotiv’s characteristics, their strengths and vulnerabilities and we stopped them from playing the game that they wanted to play.
“We were the superior team and the aim is to do the same in the return leg, to continue playing fluid football with strong transitional play and determination in both defence and attack.”
