Seedorf: Defence still the priority

Clarence Seedorf believes improving defensive play is the priority for Deportivo La Coruna despite a recent lack of goals.

The Galician side have scored just one goal in their last six – of which the Dutchman has managed five – and sit second-from-bottom in La Liga.

“The teams that play against us are going to have a tough time trying to score a goal,” Seedorf told reporters, as cited by Marca.

“We have worked hard on defending and attacking as a team, we must be compact and be strong in the transition of our phases at both ends of the pitch.

“The media are focusing on individuals not scoring but goals are achieved as a team just as victories are, it is not just Lucas Perez who can save us from relegation but the entire team.”
