Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has revealed former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi is the only football who ‘makes me go wow’.
The 26-year-old joined the Bundesliga giants from the Blaugrana in 2013 and whilst he believes Manchester City and other sides play ‘amazingly’, Messi is still head and shoulders above the rest.
“City are playing amazingly, but I don't think 'wow'…(only) Messi makes me go 'wow,’” Thiago told an interview with ESPN.
“Barcelona, Real Madrid, City: There are many teams you'd want to play against, but no team has impressed me.
“They are football players, like us. We just have to compete and see who is better at that moment.”
