Atletico Madrid will attempt to sign Villarreal winger Samu Castillejo in summer following Yannick Carrasco’s departure to China.
The Belgian winger joined Dalian Yifang and Diario AS now report the Malaga-native tops Los Rojiblancos list of targets for a replacement.
Villarreal president Fernando Roig admitted in January confirmed interest in the midfielder from Italy: “Napoli’s interest has always been concrete and direct,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.
The 23-year-old joined the Yellow Submarine from La Liga rivals Malaga in 2015 and has made 27 appearances this season, scoring one goals and assisting four.
Under contract to June 2020, Castillejo reportedly has a €20m release clause and fellow Villarreal midfielder Rodri has also been linked to Atleti.
