Lewy & agent split on Madrid talk

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski insists links with Real Madrid are ‘funny’, but his new agent appeared to open the door.

Reports suggested Lewandowski had changed agents to Pini Zahavi in order to engineer a summer transfer to Madrid, with the Israeli said to have an excellent rapport with Los Blancos’ board.

“My change of agent has nothing to do with [Madrid’s reported interest] whatsoever,” he said after Bayern’s 0-0 draw with Hertha Berlin on Saturday.

“I find this speculation funny. It doesn’t interest me.”

Zahavi, on the other hand, told Fussballtransfers: “The best clubs in the world want Lewy.

“Real Madrid? We’ll see. I have to do my job now.”

The 74-year-old is best known for helping Roman Abramovich broker his historic takeover of Chelsea in 2003 and Neymar join Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in a world-record deal.
