Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed his private plane was searched by Spanish authorities looking for Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont.
RAC1 reported on Friday that the tactician’s plane was checked out by members of the Guardia Civil at El Prat on Sunday with a second search since.
Puigdemont has been in exile in Belgium since the Catalan unilateral referendum on independence in October 2017, and Guardiola confirmed the searches took place during a press conference on Friday.
The former Barcelona boss frequently returns to Catalonia on his private jet to visit family and friends.
