Valencia may not be in a financial position to activate Geoffrey Kondogbia’s purchase option from Inter, according to reports in Spain.
The Frenchman joined Los Che on a season-long loan deal from Inter and has largely impressed for Los Che with the club keen to activate his option to buy, which is reported at €25m.
Marca now report the club’s financial position, even with Champions League qualification this season, may not be enough to stretch to signing the 25-year-old.
The report states there must be a ‘significant sale’ at the Mestalla to free-up the funds for Kondogbia’s permanent arrival at the club.
Valencia signed Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin last month to ease the workload on the former Monaco midfielder.
