Report: Madrid plan Bale summer exit

Real Madrid are planning to sell Gareth Bale this summer in order to help fund new arrivals into the squad, say reports in the Spanish press.

The 28-year-old has suffered from consistent injury problems in recent seasons while it is said the Madrid hierarchy, and particularly Zinedine Zidane, have run out of patience.

The Welshman was left on the bench for the midweek win over Paris Saint-German with Diario AS stating this is the latest signal that his time at the club is coming to an end.

Bale has started only 11 games across La Liga and the Champions League this season, having struggled with recurring calf and thigh injuries.

The former Southampton and Tottenham player has been linked with a return to England and Manchester United, who reignited their interest last summer.
