Paris Saint-Germain full-back Dani Alves has refuted the claim his side were favourites to win against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
The former Sevilla and Barcelona full-back rejected claims in the media of the Parisians being favourites, but now wants his side to ‘put on a show’ in the return leg.
“The media need to sell papers, but talk of us being the favourites to win against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu is not right,”
“It is always such a tough stadium for any team, even the best, and we were not consistent enough throughout the game and we were punished.
“You cannot take anything for granted in this stadium and we have found that out the hard way with this result.
“We now have to make sure we put on a show in Paris and ensure Madrid need to be at their best to go through to the next round.”
