Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone has no concerns over Antoine Griezmann’s relationship with the club’s fans after an inflammatory incident on Sunday.
The French forward played a sideways pass to a teammate rather than spring the opportunity of a counter-attack, before subsequently gesturing to shush the fans who had booed the decision.
“No, no, not at all,” Simeone responded when asking if there was any discord between Griezmann and the club’s fans.
“Griezmann made excellent choices throughout the match, he put in a very strong performance and did what was needed.
“He was part of a winning team and the fans will return home happy tonight, they have a strong relationship with the players and I am sure that will continue.”
Atleti consolidated their place in the league’s top two with the 1-0 win over Valencia.
