Athletic Club Bilbao midfielder Mikel Rico has signed a one-year contract extension at the club to extend his stay until June 2019.
The 33-year-old’s deal at San Mames was due to expire this summer but he has agreed to nail his commitment to the club for a further 12 months.
His release clause will now stand at €35m and it will ensure the midfielder remains at the Basque giants for a sixth consecutive season.
Rico, who has started nine La Liga game this season, has previously played for Huesca and Granada before joining Athletic in 2013.
