Mourinho: Madrid are on fire

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho believes his former club Real Madrid are ‘on fire’ but Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at the club.

The Portuguese manager extended his deal at Old Trafford until 2020 and was asked to comment about a possible future return to the club for Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I think that, given the moment Real Madrid are having now, I think I should be the last one to add some fuel to the fire,” Mourinho told reporters on Thursday.

“Madrid is on fire; the results are not good and it's a club where I worked three years. I cared about the club, I am the last one to add to the fire.

“Cristiano is the type of player everyone wants but only one club and one Coach can have. That is Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane, that is my feeling.”
