Barcelona have announced that defender Gerard Pique has agreed a new contract with the club until 2022.
A statement on Barca’s official website confirms Pique’s release clause has also been set at €500m, while the date for his contract signing will be announced “in the coming days”.
The 30-year-old graduated from La Masia but joined Manchester United in 2004, spending four years at Old Trafford.
He returned to Barca in 2008 and has gone on to win 25 trophies with the club, including six Liga titles and three Champions Leagues.
Pique remains as important as ever for the Catalans, having scored twice in 25 appearances this season.
