Zinedine Zidane insists Real Madrid “don’t need a goalkeeper” this month, despite speculation linking them with Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Marca reported on Friday that Kepa had passed a medical with Madrid and only a fee had to be agreed with Athletic Bilbao for the 23-year-old to join Los Blancos, but Zidane made it clear he would stick with Keylor Navas and Kiko Casilla until June.
“Ronaldo? I can’t imagine Real Madrid without Cristiano at all,” the Coach said at a Press conference for Sunday’s trip to Celta Vigo.
“I don’t see Cristiano playing for another team. Goalkeeper? As Coach, I’ll say that right now, I don’t need a goalkeeper.
“If there are changes in June… we’ll sit down and talk. There may be positions where we can strengthen.
“In two years, no [goalkeepers] have arrived and we’ll only look at it then. For now, I’ll only talk about the players I have out of respect for them.
“Celta? It’s a very important game. Celta rested three players against Barcelona and I think they’ll play a good game against us, like always.
“It’ll be a physical match, decided by whoever has more quality. Benzema and Ramos out? Players train, but they also have lives of their own.
“Some are injured more due to their lifestyles.”
