Valencia’s Rafa Mir joins Wolves

English club Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Valencia striker Rafa Mir in a deal worth in the region of €1.5m, say reports.

Reports earlier this week in Marca suggested the young forward would join Real Madrid in a €500,000 deal having been present at the pre-Christmas El Clasico clash at the Bernabeu.

The 20-year-old has hit 15 goals in just 19 League appearances for Los Che’s B team in the same division this season but has failed to break through since making his senior debut in November 2015.

Mir was blooded into the first-team squad by former Coach Nuno Espirito Santo – who is now Coach of Wolves – but due to limited opportunities since, decided to leave the club.

Marca had stated he would join Madrid’s Castilla team in their efforts to win promotion to Spain’s second tier but he appears instead to have opted for a move to the English Championship leaders.
