Sevilla to appoint Montella – reports

Sevilla have reportedly agreed to appoint Vincenzo Montella as their new Coach but a dispute over his Milan contract is delaying an official announcement.

The Andalucians held a lengthy board meeting on Wednesday to discuss Eduardo Berizzo’s successor after narrowing their list down to four remaining candidates.

Montella was said to be one of two Italians on the list, alongside Walter Mazzarri, with former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel and previous Malaga Coach Javi Gracia also on the list.

Despite reports Gracia was the preferred choice of fans and players alike, the board of Los Rojiblancos had few doubts over the former Fiorentina and Milan boss.

The 43-year-old was dismissed from his role at San Siro in November and Marca report that he due to his current agreement with the Rossoneri until 2019, he cannot yet be officially announced at Sevilla.

Montella – who won 20 caps with Italy – has also previously coached Catania, Roma and Fiorentina.
