Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has admitted he held talks with Real Madrid over a transfer but ‘that is now in the past’.
The French forward, who celebrated his 19th birthday last week, had been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu over summer before eventually joining the Parisians.
PSG are reported to have signed a loan deal with Monaco with an agreed future fee of €170m for the highly-rated striker, who has scored 12 goals this campaign.
“Yes it’s true that I spoke to Real Madrid,” Mbappe told an interview with Marca.
“However, that is in the past both for me and for the clubs involved and when we meet in February (in the Champions League), we want to send a message to the world.”
