Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘100% fit’ ahead of Saturday’s El Clasico with Barcelona, his Coach Zinedine Zidane has confirmed.
The Portuguese star has not trained with his teammates until Friday after sustaining a knock against Gremio last Saturday, but he is ready to start at the Bernabeu.
“Cristiano is 100% fit and ready to go,” Zidane told his pre-match press conference.
“He has trained very hard and done everything right in order to be ready for this fixture and after the break, we will discuss the situation (regarding his contract).
“The players are ready, we are always ready for these type of games.
“Everybody thinks about this fixture and they are obviously significant in the season, but we must keep working as Saturday is just another match for us, another three points we can win.
“It is important in the context of the league, we have more to lose due to the league situation that we are a little bit behind.
“What Barcelona do is not important to me, the guard of honour does not interest me or the players.
“This is the most important game of our campaign to date, and winning El Clasico is always nice.
“Barcelona are a strong team and you can see that in the standings, but we are confident we can win the match, as we always are.”
