Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos believes his side must defeat Barcelona in Saturday’s El Clascio clash to remain in the title race.
Zinedine Zidane’s side remain 11 points behind the Catalan league leaders but do have a game in hand and a victory on Saturday could propel them back into the title frame.
“The season is still long. We are 11 points and one match behind, but are still within striking distance,” Kroos told Bild, as quoted by ESPN.
“Yet to keep the title race open we had better win that match.
“Cristiano more than deserves the latest accolades. Especially in the Champions League, he again scored the crucial goals.”
