Atletico Madrid are preparing an official complaint to FIFA against Barcelona’s pursuit of forward Antoine Griezmann.
Los Rojiblancos are said to be furious with Barca’s increasingly public courtship of the French forward, which follows up from the Catalan club’s director Guillermo Amor admitting meetings regarding a transfer may already have taken place.
“If this newspaper says so, it may be the case,” the Catalans’ head of sporting and institutional relations said on Sunday following reports from El Mundo Deportivo.
“It may be that there’s been an approach, that there’s good harmony, a good relationship, conversations… It’s inevitable in the world of football.
“As in the case of Griezmann, there are many players that you can talk to and enter some kind of relationship with, in the event an opportunity arises.
“The club usually carry out this kind of work.”
A number of Spanish media outlets now report Atleti will lodge a complaint to football’s governing body.
It is not the first time this month Barca have landed themselves in hot water with the authorities after Gremio midfielder Arthur was photographed holding a Barcelona top alongside a club director.
