Setien not concerned by goal drought

Real Betis Coach Quique Setien has played down concerns on his side’s lack of goals ahead of Monday night’s clash with Malaga.

Los Verdiblancos have failed to find the net in four of their last six league games in a run which has seen his side win only two La Liga points.

“The main thing is that we are creating enough chances to score goals,” Setien told reporters, as quoted by Estadio Deportivo.

“It is true that we are lacking a focal point up front but we have lost a major player (Antonio Sanabria through a long-term knee injury) who was inspired and has scored seven goals.

“It is normal after this situation our numbers will decrease while the last game (against Atletico Madrid) is difficult as they defend extremely deeply and don’t give away many chances.

“Our lack of goals does not concern me too much and once we get back into our groove, I trust we will be ok in this respect.

“Malaga played very well in their win at Real Sociedad and have a strong squad of players, while this game is particularly important as it is an Andalucian derby.”
