Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has described teammate Cristiano Ronaldo as a ‘type of striker never seen before’ such is his prowess.
The Portuguese forward was once again decisive in Saturday’s World Club Cup final, with his strike winning Madrid’s eighth trophy inside the space of two calendar years.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is a type of striker never seen before in football,” Ramos told Telefoot, in quotes cited by Diario AS.
“He is already a legend and he will be remembered as one of the greatest players to ever play the game, he is always decisive for us and is massively respected by everyone in the squad.
“Zinedine Zidane is the best Coach, there’s no doubt about that. We are so happy to have him as our Coach and he is the exception to great players not going on to be fantastic tacticians.
“Winning is always important for us, it is part of our DNA and we want to win another Champions League title this year.
“It will be tough with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain…our games against them will be very interesting.”
