Racing Club striker Lautaro Martinez has admitted he does not know when he will officially leave the Argentine club to join Atletico Madrid.
The 20-year-old has reportedly penned a six-year deal with Los Rojiblancos which will see his deal run until the summer of 2024.
“I’ll be staying here for six more months unless we manage to qualify for the Copa Libertadores, and in that case I’ll stay for the entire year,” Martinez is quoted as saying by Marca.
The deal, which is said to be worth €12m is the latest in a busy period for Atleti following a player registration ban throughout 2018.
Diego Costa and Vitolo are both joining Diego Simeone’s side in the New Year and a series of exits over the next twelve months are expected.
