Diego Simeone admits he prefers Atletico Madrid to have “only a few chances but be much more clinical” after their 1-0 win at Real Betis on Sunday.
Atleti took to the Benito Villamarin without Antoine Griezmann in their ranks, and it was left to Saul Niguez to score the winner midway through the first half.
“We’d like to play like we did in London or against Real [Madrid],” the Coach said after the game.
“The match made us rearrange ourselves. Betis made us go through three systems to feel comfortable on the pitch.
“The good thing is that we have tactical variety, and it’s from there that our defensive strength appears.
“Today we only had a few chances but were much more clinical. For me, it’s a good style of play and the best result.”
