Keylor Navas is ‘calm’ and has ‘nothing to prove to anyone’ amid reports Real Madrid are closing in on signing a new goalkeeper.
Marca report on Thursday that the Spanish and European champions are closing in on a €20m deal for Athletic Bilbao’s goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is out of contract in June.
“I have nothing to prove to anyone,” Navas told Fox Sports, as quoted by Marca.
“I must enjoy my career and I am doing so but this club being what it is, you can never tell what the future holds but right now, I am the one who is here.
“My recovery (from injury) has gone well, I no longer feel any pain and I can train fully, I am calm and aim to reach the highest possible level.”
Madrid have also been linked with moves for English-based goalkeepers David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois.
