Griezmann: No regrets on Atleti stay

Antoine Griezmann has ‘no regrets’ over staying with Atletico Madrid this summer and is only focused on his future at the club.

The French international remained at the club over summer due to their registration ban on new players, but has been strongly linked with a move away next year due to continued below-par form.

“I have no regrets about staying at Atletico,” Griezmann told Telefoot, in quotes cited by Diario AS.

“This was my decision and I’m happy with it, that’s not the reason why I’ve gone seven games without scoring.

“I haven’t discussed a January move away and the team will improve further with the arrivals of Diego Costa and Vitolo, the reinforcements will do us good.

“I haven’t always expressed myself well (in regards to his future), like the other day I said it would be nice to play alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, of course it would, but that does not mean I want to join PSG.

“This season I have not been at my best…for France, yes it has been good but for Atletico maybe only two or three of my performances have been enough.

“I need to work hard to change this and to improve, I need to work on my shooting and also try to create more chances for my teammates – this team needs to get back to where we belong.”
