Keylor Navas ‘deserves’ to be Real Madrid’s goalkeeper and the club shouldn’t replace him, according to Costa Rica FA president Rodolfo Villalobos.
Since arriving at the Bernabeu in 2014 from Levante, the Costa Rican goalkeeper has helped Los Blancos to back-to-back Champions League crowns alongside last season’s La Liga title.
“I believe that Navas has been engulfed by rumours ever since the day he arrived at Real Madrid,” Villobas told Marca.
“Keylor has played a fundamental role in the titles won at the club since he came in and has shown continually he deserves to be at Real Madrid.
“Madrid need Keylor more than he needs them – he is writing his own story and we all hope he stays there for many more years.”
Madrid have been continually linked with Manchester United’s goalkeeper David De Gea alongside Kepa Arrizabalaga of Athletic Bilbao.
