Clement Lenglet hailed Sevilla taking ‘an important step’ towards the knockout stages of the Champions League with victory over Spartak Moscow.
The French defender scored his first goal in the competition to open the scoring before Ever Banega doubled the lead, while Ze Luis scored late for the Russian visitors.
“We still have two games remaining but it was an important step toward guaranteeing a spot in the next round,” Lenglet told reporters.
“We played at a very good level for most of the game.”
The 22-year-old has made 34 appearances for Los Rojiblancos since a January switch from Nancy.
