Ter Stegen praises Barca team spirit

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has hailed the club’s strong team spirit and explained his pride at being at the club.

The German produced a series of excellent saves in Barca’s 2-0 victory at Athletic Bilbao on Saturday evening as they won their 13th match in their last 14 outings.

“Everybody at the club is very kind and the atmosphere is laid back,” Ter Stegen told an interview with Waz.de.

“All the dressing room is humble and they are all always normal despite how talented they all are…even Lionel Messi!

“He sums us up as he is totally normal despite having a crazy life – whenever he goes somewhere people go crazy yet he is grounded.

“We have a great team balance and spirit here, everybody gets along and it’s a strong rapport.

“I’m very proud to be at this club and it’s a joy! The slogan ‘mes que un club’ is something you actually go through every day as it sums up exactly what the club is about.

“Barcelona are a club who try to win every game and every trophy available to us, so it’s natural that this motivates you to be the best you can be too.”
