Kylian Mbappe’s agent has claimed the striker ‘only wanted’ to join Barcelona this summer and he tried to formulate a €150m move to the Camp Nou.
Josep Maria Minguella explained how the French striker would have ‘loved’ to play alongside Lionel Messi and this desire increased when he discovered Neymar would be leaving the Blaugrana to join PSG.
“Mbappe told me he only wanted to sign for Barcelona when he found out Neymar was going to go to PSG,” Minguella told Cadena Copa.
“They (Barca) could have signed him if they paid €120m plus a further €30m in variables and I spoke to his father, who claimed he only wanted Barca and how he would have loved to play with Messi.
“It was tricky to get this across to Bartomeu (Barcelona’s president) but I explained to him Neymar was definitely joining PSG and he should go for Mbappe.”
The 18-year-old has scored four goals in nine appearances for the Parisians since joining from Monaco in August.
