Preview: Valencia-Sevilla

Valencia face the biggest test of their top-four credentials on Saturday, when they welcome an out-of-sorts Sevilla to Mestalla.

Valencia boss Marcelino on the importance of three points: “I can imagine the stadium to be almost full… or full.

“It can be felt that the fans are very excited about their team and, above all, we hope to put on a good show.

“If we can suffer a little less than we did against Athletic, that’s even better. The three points would put us in a very good situation.”

Sevilla boss Eduardo Berizzo on criticism of his reign: “It’s part of my profession. I absorb it, as well as the praise. I’m as nice when I win as when I lose…

“It doesn’t affect me. My work carries an emotional strain because it impacts on many people.

“At the moment, I’m the same as I was three months ago. I still believe in what my players and I doing.

“I want the best for Sevilla and that the fans are proud of their team. I’ve always felt support from the club.”
