Sergio Busquets believes Barcelona are more compact as a team this season under new Coach Ernesto Valverde.
The Blaugrana have won nine games in a row across all competitions and the deep-lying midfielder hinted the team’s new shape and fluidity ensured they were a more solid unit.
“To play with various midfielder ensures you have more possession and superiority in the middle of the pitch,” Busquets explained to El Mundo Deportivo.
“I believe I’m a little more protected now than I was before and this season I feel more comfortable – we are more compact and have more influence on the games.
“I don’t know about the statistic but the feeling is we are playing closer together and that we are more compact, making it harder for others to create chances against us.
“This is good for the team and good for me, as we’re more solid and are more likely to fight for titles.”
