Antoine Griezmann has compared Luxembourg to Atletico Madrid after the European minnows secured a goalless draw in Paris.
The 26-year-old was part of the French side who failed to break down Luxembourg in a hugely frustrating stalemate for Didier Deschamps’s side, but Griezmann praised their ‘warrior’ spirit.
“For me their performance was amazing to see because they reminded me a little bit of Atletico, my club,” Griezmann told Canal+ France.
“I enjoyed their way of playing – we were up against 11 warriors who gave their all, but for us we have no excuses for only drawing.”
