La Liga wants Man City investigation

La Liga has called on UEFA to investigate Manchester City’s spending this summer and called for a thorough examination of PSG’s finances.

The league’s president Javier Tebas wrote in a statement to The Associated Press that the club’s transfer spending “distorts European competitions” and “is irreparably harming the football industry.”

La Liga’s chief wrote to UEFA on 22August to call for a thorough examination of the outgoings of City and the Parisians this summer – the two club’s who spent the most in this summer’s transfer market.

On Friday, UEFA confirmed they would be examining PSG’s spending while Tebas has called specifically for an investigation into ‘PSG’s history of noncompliance’.

PSG signed Barcelona star Neymar this summer along with Monaco's Kylian Mbappe, while Manchester City spent heavily this summer in moves for Ederson, Danilo, Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker.
