Barca’s Coutinho ‘Plan B’

Barcelona have activated ‘Plan B’ after being discouraged in their pursuit of Philippe Coutinho, claim reports in Spain.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans have now initiated contract with a trio of players – Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, Paulo Dybala of Juventus and Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.

The Blaugrana were said to have been genuinely convinced that Coutinho’s transfer request at Anfield and refusal to play would force the Anfield club into selling their asset for a fee of up to €160m.

However, as things stand negotiations are at a standstill and desperate not to miss out on another ‘star’ arrival, Barca have begun last-ditch talks with other clubs in the hope of a deal.

Conflicting reports in the British press stated that Jurgen Klopp’s side would either eventually sell the former Inter star or had totally ruled out a move.
